About

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My educational experiences have given me great diversity in the classroom. I served as a lead teacher and co-administrator for five years in a low-income preschool before entering the classroom in the public school system. There, I taught in a range of classrooms from Kindergarten to Third Grade. I currently teach Third Grade and I love the age group! It is an interesting blend of independence and youthful creativity.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I would describe myself as having a fairly eclectic teaching style. As my students' needs shift, I tend to adapt to whatever method best serves the their learning at the time. You will frequently find my students scattered around the room, or hallway, in small groups working on a variety of projects. I love to give them interactive learning opportunities that allow them flexibility to learn in a variety of ways while they interact with their peers.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY
I attended Mount Vernon University in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, from which I graduated in 2002 with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education. Throughout the school year, I attend multiple professional development workshops and webinars to enhance my teaching skills. For the past two years, I have served as the 3-5 Science Representative for my school. I have also served a grade-level chair and am currently serving as a STEM team representative for my school. Next year, I am planning to enroll in a MA program to receive a degree in an education-related field.
